Continuing Education
Our team at CDS had a 3 1/2 hour training with Cathy Turbyne on Friday. Cathy does training on OSHA. Her trainings are always very informative. We learned that Maine is one of the safer states in terms of occupational injuries/illness, and that the number of these cases has dropped steadily over the last 8 years. One preventative recommendation she shared was to take Probiotics whenever you have to take antibiotics. In recent years, C diff (Clostridium Difficile) infections have become more frequent, more severe and more difficult to treat. Unfortunately Antibiotics kill all bacteria, not just the bad ones. When antibiotics destroy the good bacteria in our digestive systems, C diff infections can occur. Probiotics help to increase the number of healthy bacteria so decreasing the possibility of a C diff infection. Probiotics have many positive benefits and are available in your local supermarket in the vitamin section.
