“Hi all you wonderful people! Both my wife and I had to change our 35+ year relationship with our dentist due to his retirement. CDS was suggested to us and we have made the change and are very satisfied with the our change. One suggestion, however. I personally was disappointed in my most recent visit. Last Spring, I asked for a specific dental hygienist when scheduling my fall appointment. Her name was on my reminder card, but when I arrived for my appointment I was assigned to a different hygienist. I was disappointed that I was not notified of the change in advance of my appointment when I confirmed by phone my appointment 2 weeks prior to it. I also was disappointed that when I checked in, I was not notified that my scheduled hygienist was not available and that I would be having someone else. Someone who is working in your mouth is someone that you build a relationship with over time. You get to know their family, their likes and dislikes, etc. They become part of ones ‘extended family’. And, it certainly makes the experience more enjoyable. My suggestion to you is that you make it a point to, as I will in the future, to confirm that your patients will have the scheduled dental hygienist. They he/she is not available, the patient should have the option to cancel and reschedule the appointment when that hygienist is abvailable.. That would represent a committment to ‘Customer Service’.”

I’m an older, retired person with lots of experience in dental offices over the years. I really appreciate that the doctors (Dr Sevey and Spiderman) and staff talk frankly with me about what they find and options to deal with it. They help me understand how to prioritize and what “work” can be delayed so as to make best use of my dental insurance. At the same time, with the few unplanned events I’ve had, they’ve dealt with the problem very quickly. I don’t know how CDS techniques compare to the state of the art, but I suspect they compare very favorably. Having a crown has been done in one visit. I used to think a dental procedure meant enduring some pain, sometimes a lot of pain. This hasn’t been the case with CDS. With CDS, its no longer a worry. CDS has several dental hygenists and I haven’t met one I didn’t like. I do have my favorite, though, and it’s never a problem to make sure I get her on every 6-month “cleaning”. So I’m totally happy with the care I get from the people that put their hands in my mouth and that’s most important to me. But the front office staff is what puts CDS “over the top”. Yes, I get a “Hello, Wayne!” and a real smile when I arrive, but I also get a “How’s retirement?” and a “What’s … (my son) doing?”. I think it’s cool that they remember what I’ve shared with them. I wish my memory was so good! It’s not just pleasant. When I arrive, I’m their focus until I go out the door … or at least they make me feel like I am. They make sure I get my appointments at times I like and are good for both of us. They make sure I know costs and they deal with the #$%^! insurance companies so I don’t have to. Besides getting the routine right, I value how a place does when the unexpected happens. I’ll share two experiences that have helped cement my good relationship with CDS. A few years ago and before Spiderman, CDS had a dentist who was experienced and seemed to do good work, but I just didn’t like him. I quietly mentioned it to the staff and never saw him again. Simple. How you’d want them to deal with it. Well, that guy is gone and Spiderman is here. Spiderman is great. Great. The final experience I want to relate is now several years ago (and before Spiderman). Dr. Sevey was out of state at a conference and I had a dental emergency. It hurt like hell! The office staff said they’d arrange something and would call me right back. They did. That day I drove to another dentist in Bangor. No paperwork. The dentist was happy to help a Dr Sevey client and corrected the problem, even though he didn’t know me from Adam and seemingly had a waiting room full of people. Wow. Without reservation, I recommend CDS.”

I went in to have my permanent crown placed and not knowing the procedure and having had most other appointments under anesthetia of some type I was still a bit nervous as to what I might feel. Mara took me in and discussed my concern and what to expect and answered basic questions and once again I was put at ease. Dr Sevey came in and we talked abit and he explained the process. To begin he gave me a topical agent before doing the numbing agent process for which I felt nothing and after ten minutes he started the procedure and he once again explained everything as he went along and I felt no pain or discomfort and he took his time as he adjusted the fit and making sure it was as close to perfect as it could be and I came out with a great looking crown and kudos also to the person to whom does the crown design. I was extremely happy. Speaking as someone who had terrible painful dental experiences as a teenager and young adult from other dental services out of state which kept me from going to dentist for needed care for a long time, I highly recommend Dr Sevey and all his staff, for which I have had several now through various processes, along with the friendly office staff as well I am always met and treated with kindness, caring, patience, understanding but even more so excellent, gentle and pain free care.”
